Notes

George, ninth Laird of Pitcairn and Airdree, succeeded his father Alexander. He is mentioned in an old register of Dunfermline among a list of names, dated 14th June 1466 as helping to clear the marches of Gaittmilk, belonging to the "Abbot of Dunfermline, from the lands of Ardmuty, belonging to David Ardmuty." "There was a Perambulation of the said Marches by a brief of the Chancery of our Sovereign Lord King James III."
